Ramadan Mubarak!

More than 20 people gathered to sight the hilal of Ramadan on a cool Friday evening.

Clear skies gave a perfect view of a slim crescent low in the horizon shortly after maghrib. Mercury and Venus were also shining brightly nearby.

We even got a visit from security when someone reported a rowdy group only to find out that it was a bunch of Muslims getting excited about a cresent moon.

Ramadan Mubarak, dear Muslims.
We made it!

May Allah allow us closer to His presence,
increase our love of His messenger ﷺ,
and deepen our connection to His books of revelation and nature.

Learn How to Sight the Moon: Sha’ban 1446/2025

Sight the hilal of Sha’ban this Thursday after maghrib in the US.

The Prophet ﷺ called Sha’ban his month. Seek the blessings of Sha’ban by refreshing your knowledge of the Seerah and fast more than you usually do, even if it’s just a day more.

May Allah bless us and accept our efforts in Sha’ban, and allow us to reach Ramadan.

Hilal Sighting: Rajab 1446

It was super windy and cold, but Allah sent the clouds on their way and allowed us to see the hilal of Rajab 1446.

O Allah, bring us the new moon with security and faith, with peace and in Islam, and in harmony with what our Lord loves and what pleases Him. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.
