Sacred Water in Our Watershed Virtual STEAM Workshop on Thursday, 27 August at 2PM ET
Masjid Muhammad’s Youth Weekend School has been hosting a series of exciting virtual activities in August, including puppet shows, storytimes, STEAM programs, and house parties.
As a part of this program, I’ll be doing a live STEAM workshop about the Sacred Water in our Watershed this Thursday. We’ll discover how Allah talks about water in the Quran. We’ll listen to stories of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraging water conservation and giving water as charity. We’ll also do hands-on activities that explore water on earth, in our local watershed, and within us.
Get your kids and join me streaming live on Masjid Muhammad’s Facebook and Youtube at 2 PM on Thursday, August 27. You can also register at bit.ly/YWSSTEAM
Come, watch, and do the activities later, OR get your supplies ready in advance to participate in real-time:
- 5 gallon bucket
- large jar
- cup
- small jar
- tablespoon
- eyedropper
- water
- paper (2 sheets)
- marker or colored pencils
- spray bottle
- water-based markers
- Water Inside Us coloring sheet
I’m super excited about this workshop because I’m testing out my capstone project for the Watershed Steward Academy, an adult education program given by the Anacostia Watershed Society that helps build a strong community of watershed activists.
