It was super windy and cold, but Allah sent the clouds on their way and allowed us to see the hilal of Rajab 1446.
O Allah, bring us the new moon with security and faith, with peace and in Islam, and in harmony with what our Lord loves and what pleases Him. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.
Happy Hijri New Year! It’s time to sight the hilal for Muharram 1446 inshaAllah.
On Saturday, 6 July 2024, the hilal should be visible for much of the US, Central America, and northern parts of South America inshaAllah. The whole world will be able to see the hilal on Sunday, 7 July 2024 inshaAllah.
Wherever I am, I try to seek Allah’s signs, or at least be open to receiving them.
Yesterday, I was in an IHOP parking lot picking up a daughter when I saw the hilal for Dhul-Hijjah.
Each sign is an opportunity for submission to the Creator of the sign. It’s not about my wants or my convenience, but rather, it’s about loving surrender to Allah’s decree.
This is one of the reasons I love sighting the moon.
“We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?” (Surah Fussilat 41:53)
