Alhamdullilah, I’ve just been accepted into the GreenFaith Fellowship Program and I need your help covering the tuition & expenses. GreenFaith inspires, educates and mobilizes diverse religious communities globally for environmental action.

The journey towards becoming a GreenFaith Fellow will help me to develop the skills I must have to become a more effective leader who puts her beliefs into action in her local community.

For past five years I’ve been using the Green Ramadan platform to encourage Muslims to cultivate sustainable habits during one of the most sacred months in the Islamic calendar. These habits are based on Islamic teachings and principles that call humanity to give the environment its rights.

During the GreenFaith Fellowship program, I will build up expertise in environmental leadership, community organizing, and religious teachings on the environment with a cohort of interfaith activists. God willing, this know-how, backed with community support, will allow me to spearhead faith-based community programs that not only highlight the sustainability inherent in Islam, but encourage Muslims to build environments in which all of God’s creation can thrive.

Over the course of 10 months, the GreenFaith Fellowship Program provides multi-faith environmental leadership training that includes :

  • monthly webinars, discussions and readings;
  • two retreats focused on eco-spirituality, environmental justice & racism, community-based organizing of local GreenFaith circles
  • development of a personal eco-biography and core belief statement;
  • practice public speaking; and
  • capstone leadership project.
