Wherever I am, I try to seek Allah’s signs

Wherever I am, I try to seek Allah’s signs, or at least be open to receiving them.

Yesterday, I was in an IHOP parking lot picking up a daughter when I saw the hilal for Dhul-Hijjah.

Each sign is an opportunity for submission to the Creator of the sign. It’s not about my wants or my convenience, but rather, it’s about loving surrender to Allah’s decree.

This is one of the reasons I love sighting the moon.

“We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?” (Surah Fussilat 41:53)

Pray Outdoors, Often

The barakah of sujood.

Put your forehead on the ground.
Let the blades of grass and clover tickle your toes.
Allow your hands and knees to ground yourself in the soil.
